Our first Sunday morning service was on October 26, 1986. At that time we were an outreach to this area from what is now New Creation Family Church (Worcester, MA area).
In December of 1987 we were incorporated as Light on the Hill Christian Fellowship and received government recognition as an IRS 501c3 religious nonprofit corporation.
Also in 1987 we began our association with Faith Fellowship Ministries of New England in Winchester, MA (International Family Church). Our founding pastor, Rev. John C. Heald Jr., and his wife Jennifer are ordained by Faith Fellowship Ministries of New England and enjoy the pastoral oversight of Pastor Jonathan DelTurco and his wife Verna.
Our original church facilities were second floor rooms above "Nassiff's for Sports" on Main Street in Willimantic. When the congregation outgrew those rooms we moved to professional office space on Tuckie Road and then to a variety of temporary facilities including the Windham Center School and the McSweeney Senior Center before coming to our present facilities on South St. in the autumn of 1991.
